Genesis: The Creation of the Blog

1:1 In the beginning Slush God created the Movable Type Personal Publishing System and His blog. 1:2 Okay, okay, so He didn’t “create” Movable Type…He convinced His buddy Fortean Bureau God to host the Free Version on his webserver and got him to set the whole thing up.

1:3 Now the blog was without shape and empty, and whiteness was over the pixels of the monitor, but the Spirit of Slush God was moving over the surface of the keyboard. 1:4 Slush God said, “Let there be HTML.” And there was HTML! 1:5 Slush God saw that the HTML was good, so Slush God separated the HTML from the whiteness. 1:6 Slush God called the HTML “source code” and the whiteness “a webpage.” There was a posting, and then someone read it, marking the first blog.
