The rules:

1. Grab the nearest book.
2. Open the book to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the text of the sentence in your journal along with these instructions.
5. Don’t search around and look for the coolest book you can find. Do what’s actually next to you.

Okay, here’s mine:

“With all the security devices you’ve got?”

I guess the fun is to see if anyone can figure out what it’s from, or else to see what wacky sentences show up.  I’ll give some hints: this book was published in December 2005 by a well-known author who has won many awards.

Let’s see how good your memory is, John. This really was the book closest to me and I know you’ve read it not too long ago.

The fifth sentence on page 123 is “Not Leslie’s.”

At the southern end of the lake, reached by bus or boat from Tegernsee, is the double village of Rottach-Egern.

Recall from the netstat output for the router sun shown in the previous section that the routing table entries that use the SLIP link are added when the SLIP link is brought up, and deleted when the SLIP link is brought down.

    E Thomas –

That’s awesome. I should keep a copy of Canticle right next to my computer in case a meme like this should happen again. :)
